In selected cases, the accident scene is documented using 3D recording methods (e.g. photogrammetry, laser scanner).
In an increasing number of cars, data is recorded in the vehicle's Event Data Recorder (EDR) from a certain accident severity. If possible, this data is read out by us afterwards. This gives us additional information about the last five seconds before the collision. In addition, detailed data on the severity of the crash and, where applicable, further information on vehicle safety systems is stored. The data from an EDR makes an enormous contribution to improving the quality of accident reconstruction and provides crucial insights into the activation of safety systems.
